Batch cooking, planned like a production line
Most planners hand you seven unrelated recipes. Batchillo starts from what you will actually cook: a handful of bulk components — grains, roast vegetables, proteins, sauces — combined into different meals across the week.

How it works
-
Plan around components
The optimizer favours meals that share cooked components, so a big tray of roast vegetables or a pot of rice serves several dishes.
-
One shopping trip
Quantities are scaled to your household and added up across the week.
-
One guided session
Oven and hob tasks are interleaved in a single task list, with timers, so nothing waits on anything else.
-
Pack and store
Portions are split per person, labelled with the day, and sent to the fridge or freezer.
What you get
-
Shared bulk components
Fewer things to cook, more variety on the plate: the same batch appears in different meals.
-
Bulk quantities, done for you
No more multiplying recipes by hand — every ingredient is scaled to the people and days you plan.
-
Task list and timers
Follow the session step by step or see it as a list; timers run while you move on to the next task.
-
Freezer-aware
Recipes note whether they freeze well, and the plan respects how many days food keeps in your fridge.
-
Swap a meal
Don’t fancy something? Swap it for another that still fits your goals and the rest of the plan.
-
Kitchen measures
Grams for precision, or kitchen measures — cups, spoons, eggs and cloves — when you’d rather not weigh.
For anyone who batch cooks or bulk cooks once or twice a week and wants the planning, the maths and the order of the cooking handled.
Questions
What is batch cooking?
Cooking larger quantities in one session and storing them in portions to eat over the following days. It saves time, washing up and money.
Is batch cooking the same as meal prep?
Close. Meal prep is planning and preparing meals ahead; batch cooking is the cooking part, done in bulk. Batchillo does both: it plans the menu around what can be batch cooked together.
What makes Batchillo a batch cooking optimizer?
It scores the whole week, not single recipes: meals that share components rank higher, so you get variety from fewer batches. Your rules — allergies, exclusions, calories — always come first.
How long do batch-cooked meals keep?
Food-safety agencies such as the USDA advise eating cooked leftovers within 3–4 days in the fridge. Batchillo lets you set your own fridge days and moves later meals to the freezer.
Can I split the cooking into two sessions?
Yes. You can plan more than one prep session in a week, for example Sunday and Wednesday.
